Dr. Linda Amerson notes, “Music is a great way to connect with people and spread a positive message while raising awareness about issues affecting humans throughout various walks of life. Indeed the Arlington-based doctor has boldly gone where no one has before, taking her message across the ocean and into the hearts of many.

With the realease of Dr. Linda Amerson the “Cruise With a Purpose” theme song, a spright and funky mix that highlights her annual awareness cruise-viewers are able to take in the wonders of a voyage that that travels to exotic islands and breathtaking lakes, while educating and enlightening attendees on the effects of alopecia, a condition in which those affected suffer hair loss from the scalp. The condition can present itself at any time and can affect people of all ages.

Dr. Amerson has created a unique opportunity to reach out to those affected by providing a meaningful experience filled with relaxation , reflection, and entertainment. Dr. Amerson deemed the “Singing Hair Doctor” by industry taste masters , (after her song was performed at her first annual Cruise With a Purpose), Dr. Amerson worked with the acclaimed producer Phazz Clark. The track delivers a lively hip-hop beat with a bouncy kick and catchy lyrics. Dr. A sings positive words of encouragement with soulful vocals and drops fun savvy hip-hop message that connects with younger listeners who may have experienced difficulty in dealing with their peers because of the condition.

Indeed, seasoned Indie Recording Artist music critic Mika Lucio wrote, ”Cruise With a Purpose” is an amusing and ingenious way to rally awareness and support for a condition that touches many individuals from all backgrounds.”

The purpose of the September event was to present an educational scholarship to 1st year college student Sanah Jivani. Dr. A says, 'We are Paying It Forward'! Sanah is the organization's alopecia essay winner, and is attending the University of Texas at San Antonio. Sanah and her Houston-based parents attended, while she shared how through her journey with alopecia she has ultimately learned to love herself!

Sanah shared the experience across social media following the dinner cruise writing, “ I spent my Saturday night on the beautiful dinner cruise with a purpose and was honored with a $400 scholarship! September is Alopecia Awareness Month, and tonight was all about bringing light to this important cause. Alopecia comes in so many different forms: You could lose a few patches of hair to a whole head. And it's often completely random! Loved sharing my story tonight and meeting some of the amazing individuals who helped make this night possible. A special thanks to Dr. Amerson for hosting this amazing event!”

A brief power point presentation was shared revealing the results of Dr. A's alopecia success cases, while attendees were informed about Dr. Amerson’s Therapeutic Essentials, alongside a product table for purchases. And talk about the wow factor;: The doctor's custom table centerpieces were a hugh hit! The collaboration of Denise Howard and Dr. Amerson comprises a total of 13 male and female “heads,” each uniquely designed to coincide with the alopecia awareness theme and color scheme of royal blue and silver. Add to that attention-grabbing bling accents, hats, fidora hats, masks, hair dramatic looks, fishtail braid, and wigs! It was the talk of the event. In addition, showing love for family and close friends, names were bestowed to each centerpiece in memory of those we have lost.
